Week 7 Reflection

Hi guys,

Week 7 is about to come to an end and here we go with our blogging. I have to mention that I do feel more confident when it comes to usage of various kinds of technology.
This week I have read about learner autonomy and how important it is in the learning process. Learner autonomy awakens responsibility, stimuli and motivation. On the other hand, that does not mean that the role of the teacher is anyhow less significant or redundant. It just takes another form.
I also found topic of strategies and applications for the one-computer classroom (http://eduscapes.com/tap/topic84.htm) very useful since I basically have one computer in the classroom.
What a nice thing Padlet is! It seems to be very simple to use and to organize, still there are so many ways we can work with it with any level of students. We posted various types of information on this week topic and it has been fun to read other posts.
Since I have decided to make a plan at the end of the course, I have been thinking and putting up ideas together. I have to say it takes time and I have to make sure the technology fits the learning process. Less than a week is left to present a draft to a partner and I need to find time for that. I will be looking at the samples of plans given to us earlier to get more inspiration. Besides, I am looking forward to seeing my partner's draft as well. Good luck to us all!

Wish everyone a productive end of the week and weekend!

  1. Dear Marina,

I cannot agree with you more when you said that learner autonomy gives students motivation and responsibility as well as leaves teachers a great role to play.
I also think we only have short time before handing in the draft to our partners. Like you I started to putting things together and actually started writing each section, which is taking me forever. I spent about 10 hours yesterday, but I am not quite there yet. Maybe I am a slow learner, but it DOES take time. Although it it hard and demanding, I am kind of enjoying doing it since I am putting together what I have learned from this web skill course.
AS you said, I hope we can give a productive feedback/comments with our partners and enhance each other.

    Good luck toall of us!

  2. Dear Kunie,

Thank you for your comment. Yes, I guess time is pressing. I am also conscious of the amount of work and even if I started thinking and trying to implement, I do make changes to fit the class. Sometimes I just don't know what to write about. I need to look through the samples over and over again ) I have quite little time this weekend, hope I make it on time )
I also feel that l have learnt useful skills and I want other people know and use them as well.

    Have nice time!

  3. Hello Marina,

I completely agree with what you mentioned about the Padlet, working with different levels of students will really help our teaching and sharing. What's more the work other people did with and the samples presented on the page gives us more and more ideas on how to use this fantastic tool.

Nice to mention that we have less than a week to finish our reports, and I agree that time will play an important role for this week. Thanks for saying that you are looking forward to seeing the project report that motivates a lot!
